Next week, February 14th will be our 1 year anniversary for the Parrot Society of NW Ohio! We can’t believe it has been a year already. Our monthly meetings are filled with faithful members, a few members that show up when they can, and a couple of newbies sprinkled in between.
Our monthly meetings are educational and focus on topics to help keep the homes of parrots healthy, enriched, and ever learning together with parrots and people. Our mission is to keep the bird in the home, aiding the next home with the tools for success, and providing the education to keep that environment stimulating and happy for all. Our mission statement is: The Parrot Society of NW Ohio is dedicated to providing a resource for the most recent information and education in parrot behavior and welfare. We strive to create and maintain a happy and healthy environment for the parrot, and all of those involved with its care and livelihood, through positive reinforcement interactions. We support the advancement of aviculture through educational outreach in companion parrot welfare, avian research, and conservation.
Thank you to all involved over the past year for making and continuing to make the Parrot Society of NW Ohio what it is today. Our next meeting is Monday, February 14th, beginning at 6:15 at the Sanger Branch Library on Central Avenue. Several people are brining snacks and pop. Light refreshments are allowed at the library. If you would like to bring something, please feel free to but also let us know so we can help prevent too much food from being brought.
If you would like to stop in and help us celebrate, please feel free to do so. During the first hour we will be mingling, talking, and eating. The second hour we will proceed to discuss the topic we had intended on discussing last month. The topic will be “Observing, understanding, and working with sexual behaviors of our companion parrots.”
